The ABC of Leon Kozminski Academy
The Leon Kozminski Academy is an internationally known private Academy in Poland. Our openness to the world, respect for the research interests of academic staff and their educational experience dedicated to the students defined the Academy as an admired trustworthy destination point of academic life in Central Europe. The academic quest for new knowledge is a lever of progress and the key for developing excellence in academic teaching, executive education, corporate relationships, international cooperation, contributions to the community and personal development of the faculty and students.

Our mission is to teach business, law and management with the highest professional standards, combining the world-class research, practice and academia in the heart of Europe. According to its mission the Academy offers modern, interdisciplinary education based on the highest level of academic excellence and puts the great emphasis on the development of the scientific research. The progressive development of the Academy is strongly based on the believe that the high quality education and teaching efforts cannot be successful if they are not accompanied by world-class research.

Since 1999 LKAEM has received the most prestigious accreditation EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels. Since 2008 LKAEM has benefited from the full membership in the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA) and has been the first private Polish academy accredited as an individual member by the prestigious European University Association. The Academy has been also accredited by the Central and East European Management Development Association with the International Quality Accreditation (IQA).
The majority of our scientific researchers represent the disciplines like economics, finance, law, social sciences, marketing, management and quantitative methods. The structure of academic team assures the ability to undertake many different scientific initiatives, such as interdisciplinary seminars, scientific debates, research projects and conferences.

The standing and prestige of the LKAEM is built on its reputation as a research institution, which by the common RDI (Research, Development, Innovation) policy is focused on encouraging research activities of our faculty by motivating and supporting original research interests, by funding research projects and providing favourable conditions for conducting the research.

During last five years the Academy has been involved in the sixteen international scientific projects and is currently conducting four research projects with the funding coming from the European Union Sixth Framework Program. Among our international academic initiatives are also the following projects: Understanding and Responding to Societal Demands on Corporate Responsibility, European Platform for Excellence in CSR Research, The Special Non-Invasive Advances in Fetal and Neonatal Evaluation Network, Next Steps in Developing Information Society Services in the New Member States, Online Distance Learning Module in European Union Basic Law Education.

The Academy puts strong efforts to develop its own modern and well designed campus and provide the students, staff and visitors with the top quality premises, allowing stimulation of cooperation. The one-located comfortable campus of 21.000 sq. m. floor space is designed for the study facilities, among which are the modern well stocked library, computer labs, recreational areas and offices of the faculty and administration.

LKAEM’s possess user-oriented, electronic research library which  keeps up with the top international standards. The main strategy is to improve the IT technologies in the development of new dissemination methods and services. The library is located in a new part of the campus, and has 1200 sq.m. floor space. It contains 44 thousand volumes, including 13 thousand in the foreign languages, over 269 scientific journals and newspapers, mainly concerning the subject matter of economics, law, management and social sciences. Faculty members and students have at theirs disposal a free access to the 17 on-line and CD-ROM hosted databases, including EBSCO, Emerald, ProQuest and JStor. A volume of the library's resources is constantly updated and increased.
